DOCUMENT 1010 READ AND FOLLOW THESE STEPS CAREFULLY (Note: Management Access Security will be needed for all of the procedures in this document. To place the call accounting in Management Access mode press the MANAGEMENT ACCESS Key followed by the code number) INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING CHIPS IN THE INN-FORM/XL #1 Go into management access and run PROGRAM #10, PROGRAM #20 and PROGRAM #32. If you have programmed Automatic Multi Reports, you will also need to print out a Multi Report #7 for a copy of how the reports are set up. These printouts clearly show any on site programming that was done and can be referenced when re- programming the system. #2 For the INN-FORM/XL you can do a program #153 which is a mass check out (this is not necessary in the TEL-SENSE). The program #153 will flag all calls to appear on the extension audit. Run any reports that you need on the call records stored in the memory of the system. *** THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT *** because all the call records will be erased after the installation of the new chip(s). #3 UNPLUG the call accounting system from the printer, the telephone system and the power supply. Make sure you are grounded. Turn the call accounting system over and remove the screws. Carefully take the back off. #4 THE DATA CHIP - The large chip on a black plastic carrier, in the socket located in the corner of the circuit board is the data (or property) chip. Remove the old data chip with it's carrier from the socket carefully and place the new data chip in the socket (this chip always comes on it's own black plastic carrier). Make sure that there is a black jumper on pins two and three of the five pin connector beside the data chip socket. #5 THE FIRMWARE CHIP U10 - Remove the screws that secure the circuit board to the case and gently fold the circuit board over so the other side of the board is visible. The existing firmware chip will be clearly marked U10. Locate the notch on the existing firmware chip. When installing the new firmware chip (also marked U10) make sure the notch is facing in that same direction. INSTALL the new firmware chip. Make sure no pins are bent and all pins mate to the socket. #6 Carefully put the system back together. #7 Plug the call accounting system back into the power. If the chip(s) have been installed correctly the call accounting system will show time and date in the display. #8 Go into management access, run PROGRAM #248. You must press the "$" (found in the upper right hand corner of the system) to reset the XL/TS systems. Program #248 tells the system to initialize and read the information from the new data chip. The system will print out a program #10 and a re-initialization message. #9 System defaults to a MODE #0. If previously in MODE #7 (mode 7 prints wake-up calls) then place back into by the following keystrokes. Mngt access - access code - enter - mode set - 7 - enter. #10 Re-program any on-site parameters (ie grace periods, surcharges, mark-ups, etc.). The system is now ready to process call record information.
