CONTROLING PRICING OF LOCAL CALLS

(Note: Management Access Security will be needed for all of the procedures in this document. To place the call accounting in Management Access mode press the MANAGEMENT ACCESS Key followed by the code number)

In some cases the call accounting system is programmed for a Flat
Rate dialing method. When that is the case local calls are either
no cost or the charge to the guest for local calls will be the
amount that is programmed in Program #1 FIXED RATES, Call type #1
LOCAL.

PROBLEM:  Local calls are pricing at a varying amount.  The
          Property would like the local calls to be free or at a
          specified set amount to the guest.  

SOLUTION: If the system has been programmed for a property that is
          located in an area defined as measured or metered
          service, Program #1 FIXED RATES does not apply.  

          To control the price of the local call in a
          measured/metered service situation use Program #4 MARK
          UP%, call type "Nearby" and Program in a value of -100
          under "Nearby".  Next using Program #5 "Surcharge" put in
          a value of 0 if the local calls are to be no charge or
          put the amount that is to be charged for each local call.

          Print out a Program #10 and check to verify that the
          newly programmed values are correct.  Do a local test
          call and make sure that the system is pricing the local
          call properly.
