President's Message
Hope your Christmas season is brimming with hope!! We all deserve a little (!) break to celebrate this most special event, so all of us at TEL wish you and yours a very special Christmas!
Okay, now let’s get down to business: TEL’s EOY discounts (our “Bailout Package”) are working for some of you, so it’s starting to work for TEL, too. BUT time flies, so beg, borrow or … well, however you can make it happen, BUY some TEL products soon to get your money-making products, as these discount prices must end 12/31. Our new 2009 Price List should be out in a few days, reinstating many 2000-08 prices, but with some increases – TEL has to keep up with costs, too.
We hope economy problems brush by you – and us! TEL is NOT going to react as many are doing, we assure you. TEL and you together have helped businesses and motels manage their money and phone costs/systems better and even have saved or made them some money! Yep, even today, TEL systems save or make some money (better than almost all other equipment bought), so they are the products you SHOULD BE SELLING!

Why Hotels Should Buy Rate Upgrade Plans
Because area codes, telephone numbers, and dialing patterns are constantly be changed and updated in North America and throughout the world, TEL recommends that all properties update their call accounting systems semi-annually through a rate upgrade plan. With semi-annual upgrades, hotel managers can be confident that their call accounting system will accurately bill calls, account for new area codes and prefixes, and include all of the lastest features and functionality of new models and releases.
Reasons to Upgrade:
- New Area Codes. If an area code is added to your state, your system will print "out-of-state" toll calls for these in-state calls. With an out-of-date system, properties will be forced to write off inaccurate calls and lose revenue as well as pay for the actual cost of calls.
- New Prefixes. Thousands of new local, extended, or long distance prefixes are added to the United States every month. Additionally, international codes and prefixes are changing all of the time. Without updating your system, your property will not accurately account for these changes.
- Property Name Change. The call accounting system prints the property name in certain call activity reports. In the event that a property changes its name, the property must upgrade their system to account for the new name.
- New Phone System. Because call accounting systems are designed to interface with the phone system that they are setup with, when a property changes their phone system thay may also need to upgrade their call accounting system.
- New Property Management System. Call accounting systems are programmed for PMS or non-PMS environments. If a new PMS is added or replaced, the system should be upgraded to ensure accurate postings to the new PMS.
- New Dialing Patterns. With the addition of 10-digit dialing, extended calling areas, 7-digit toll call dialing, and numerous other special area dial patterns, upgrading your call accounting system is essential for accurate billing and added revenue.
- Additional Features and Functionality. As the call accounting systems are updated and changed, new features and functions become available to help track and report calls more efficiently.
